Toilet Maintenance Part 02

Kitchen And Bathroom Renovation : Toilet Maintenance Part 02

HOW TO Cleaning The Flush Holes

Is your flush sluggish? It could be because not enough water is flushing through the bowl in one shot, which is necessary for a good, strong flush. Especially in areas with hard water, mineral deposits will clog the fl ush holes, making for a wimpy flush.

PREP WORK

• Shut off the water to the tank from the shut-off valve and flush the toilet; you don’t want water to dilute the vinegar.
• Spray the entire underside of the bowl rim (where the flush rings are) with vinegar. With the sprayer in the “stream” position, spray the vinegar into the holes.

• Let the vinegar soak for an hour.
1. Fish the hook of the wire hanger in and out of each hole to unclog the debris. Use the mirror if you’re having difficulty seeing them.

2. Scrub the entire underside of the bowl rim with the brush, dipping it in vinegar as you work.
3. Turn the water back on and fl ush.
4. Repeat from Step 1 if more unclogging is needed.
